The station is privately owned and run by Abdul Rudahunga, who was introduced to coffee by his grandmother: a farmer and one of the few rural Rwandan women who roasted and enjoyed her own coffee every day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHarvesting takes place by hand from March to October, in three passes. After pulping, the cherries are fermented in water and sorted by density in the washing channels. Drying takes place first under cover for the first 24 hours, then in the sun on raised African beds for 15–18 days.
