Majer's Sumatra Mandheling GR1 Coffee is a specialty Arabica with a score of 83.5.
It is grown among the volcanoes of Sumatra's north-west coast, in Indonesia, and takes its name from the Mandailing people who still live in the north of the island today. It is hand-picked and hand-sorted. Grade 1 indicates the selection with the fewest defects.
In the cup, it has good body and delicate acidity, with hints of cocoa, nuts and carob, touches of spice, and a long liquorice finish with a pleasant bitter edge.
