Tarrazú is considered one of the cradles of the best Costa Rican coffee. On these hills overlooking the Pacific, in the Los Santos district, Arabica grows on small family-run farms, at an altitude between 1,400 and 1,900 meters, in the shade of Inga trees. The climate is marked by two distinct seasons: the rainy season, from June to November, and the dry season, from December to May, with about 2,400 mm of rain per year and an average temperature of 19 °C: ideal conditions for a slow and uniform ripening of the drupes.

The harvest, from December to March, is entirely manual and takes place in three successive passes, to pick only the cherries at the right degree of ripeness. This is followed by 16 hours of fermentation, drying, and mechanical bean selection, which result in a clean, regular, and highly refined coffee.

"La Pantera Tarrazú" is born from the work of various cooperatives of small producers and farms in the region, where coffee cultivation is the heart of the local economy and a commitment that involves families from generation to generation, in the name of sustainability programs and environmental and social responsibility (Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, "Zero Carbon" initiative).

Majer's Costa Rica La Pantera Tarrazú SHB coffee is composed of Washed Arabica quality coffee from the Los Santos districts, in the Tarrazú region. The slow maturation at high altitude gives it a sweet and complex taste, with notes of red fruits, plum, and chocolate and a bright acidity.
